I *think* what happened is that on the day the VMAs were announced, ONE article said he'd be performing... but since then we've heard nothing and he hasn't been on the "performing" lists provided by MTV. That's why there's confusion. People think the person who wrote the ONE article was mistaken.

His tour dates don't conflict with the actual VMA show but he has got shows on the nights before and after.

....but his dancers are apparently...

So I was randomly looking at his dancers' website and under the list of "Justin Timberlake Concert Tour Dates" they have the MTV awards listed. So if his dancers are going to be there....

The only reason I think it's not true is because he has shows one day before and one day after the VMA's; one in WA and one in CA.

It was mentioned in the original article about the VMA nominations. But if you can't find it anywhere else, that makes me wonder whether the article was correct or not.

Timbaland will also be serving as the evening's musical maestro, with superstar DJ Mark Ronson on the decks - and Timbaland and Timberlake will be hosting their own fantasy suite party.
