mixed drinks are dangerous for me b/c I can't taste the alcohol and then I don't feel buzzed/drunk until it's too late.

Well, you probably can't taste the alcohol in those! I keep it simple, most of the drinks I like you can taste the alcohol, so it's easier to drink slowly....usually after I finish one gin and tonic, I feel buzzed already. Oh geez, I don't know about feeling the effects of mixed drinks sooner. Typically we all drink a mix of 151, Malibu and Pineapple juice and I swear I could drink like 3 of those and then be like "Shoot...probably should have stopped after one..." haha.

Don't mix liquors. And don't do shots. They take too long to "kick in" and you end up doing more to compensate. Stick with mixed drinks. You can sip them slowly and feel the effects sooner.

That's what I always do and I've never puked from drinking. Usually I'll just stick with drinking gin and tonics and screwdrivers. They're always cheaper, too, which is nice.

haha. Sadly, I witnessed someone puke spaghetti as well. And seriously, someone could have put it on a plate and you wouldn't have thought twice about it. It totally came out in strings the same way it went in. GROSS

If you have food in your stomach, it slows down the absorption of alcohol into your bloodstream. Faster absorption = more drunk. Slower absorption = less drunk.

In an hour? Depending on your size, 7-10 is a lot. Anything more than that might fuck you up.

LMAO Exactly. Which is why I've learned to make my drinks fill the cups. Like, 1 to 2 shots in a big ass cup of punch. It takes longer, so I don't end up throwing back nearly...

I suppose that's kind of like the "eat lots of bread!!" thing when you drink. I'm sure it just helps soak it up more in your digestive system.

Ugh, I can't do shots at all. Unless forced to. haha. So I can't help you on that. And honestly, it depends on your body and if you have food in your system, etc.

I know I sometimes get in trouble because I'll make drinks that don't taste like liquor at all. So I sit there drinking and drinking and the next thing I know it's like, "Oh fuck..." hahaha.

I'd suggest eating before you start drinking too. It could possibly backfire, but I know sometimes if I eat before I go out drinking, it will help b/c there's something in my stomach to soak up a bit of the alcohol, if that makes sense?

I mix whatever I'm having with a lot of juice (or soda, or whatever), so it takes a while to drink up. By the time I've started in on another cup of something, I'll know if I'm feeling a buzz. So there is less time for it to sneak up on me, and I can get just on the brink of drunk without getting sloshed. It works.

Seriously, beer never makes me puke. All it does is make me piss like a racehorse and I hate it. And it takes me forever to get drunk. I like doing shots...but it seems like every time I do that, i end up puking hardcore and I don't even have that many.
