I can do laundry now, but I didn't know how for a long time. Nobody ever taught me how to cook, clean, wash clothes, etc. It was nice being spoiled at the time, but not so nice when you grow up and realize you don't know how to do anything and feel incompetent about it.

By properly, I meant seperating all the colors correctly, using bleach, following the tag directions to a T.
By time, I meant that I don't really have time to do all of that nonsense when it doesn't really matter anyway.
And the washers and dryers are 1.00 to operate in my apartment building so separating and all that jazz is not very money-smart.

I agree! Sometimes I still get mad at my brother, but then I remind myself it's not his fault. If I could get someone to wait on me hand and foot, I'd take advantage of it, too.

OMG. That is ridiculous. My mom kinda does the same shit with my brother, although not as extreme. I HATE the double standard she uses, because my sisters and I were doing our own laundry by the time we were 10!

I usually put in more soap than necessary (same as roxypop, I want my shit to be clean lol), but it works out because my parents wash machine has a 2nd rinse option/cycle thing. So I win everytime!

And I agree with Zazzified - you just throw your shit in, put in soap, and then turn on the water. The only thing someone shouldnt know how to do is maybe figure out the wash machine (if they've never used one before).

But I rarely seperate my colors. The only color...
