They're actually fairly clean. Of course the dust can be messy, but other than that, they don't really...

I have one and I love him so much. He's actually very social and loves to be handled. It definately takes some time for them to warm up to you, especially if they weren't handled starting at birth.

They do not make very good pets. The chinchilla is a skittish animal and generally hates to be handled. Their small, delicate bones cause them to be fearful and avoidant and they will probably never warm up to you. However, if you do get one and it doesn't work out, you could always make a coat out of it.

Well the two rabbits are mine, they live in my room(actually, they have full run of my room lol) and the family pets are two golden retrievers. I didn't let the dogs come down into my room until the bunnies were fully used to them and I'm always there.

I was thinking of adopting one to add to my little furry family. If they don't get along with rabbits, I'd keep it in its own pen. Any experiences to share?
