When I was little, I got sick off of eating hamburger once. It wasn't until last year that I could even touch the stuff again. My mom gets the taco meat from a local place here and I like it and I can eat McDonald's cheese burgers, but that's it so far. No other meat bothers me except hamburger, so I like refried beans with a lot of my taco/Mexican foods.

Cool, thanks! Ground beef also makes me nauseous. My mom would make hamburger helper every once in a while when I was a kid and I'd fake sick so I wouldn't have to eat it, every time. Thanks for the tips, I'm kind of kitchen stupid.

I eat them with refried beans (without meat) all the time. I actually don't like hamburger unless it's very seasoned or processed a lot, the texture makes me want to throw up. I like it with just the beans!

As far as the bread. My mom makes her own dough, but you could probably just buy some of the frozen dough, thaw, cut up, roll into balls, flatten and then fry in cooking oil. I'm sure there are much better instructions online.

I want to make one! Well here's the thing, I don't really eat meat so do you think it would be gross with just refried beans, cheese, lettuce, sour cream and salsa or whatever? Like the tostadas they make at Taco Bell? Because I like the bread idea but I usually make tostadas with the flat crunchy tortilla things. Or is that a stupid question? I'm just icturing it getting all soggy...Oh and also how does she make it (the bread)? I'm sorry this is all one paragraph but my enter...

My mom makes them! Well, the fry bread. Everything else is typical, you know. They do sell them, like over the 4th and the fairs and stuff, but they're like $8 a piece and they're not as big as the ones my mom makes.

Well, that one has refried beans (which I prefer some times), but mostly hamburger and sour cream. It's just taco on bread that's fried.

It's was originally a Native American thing.
