I've had a 5 and when I wanted to enlarge them they just didn't come out very good. Actually I took a bunch of pictures from around my house before we moved...

more Mp does NOT equal better camera, especially in pocket cameras. 10mp is only really relevant teamed with a large professional grade lens.
In smaller lenses/optics, more MP usually equals more noise (blurrinesss) but camera company marketing has tricked most people into thinking they NEED more MP

I have a Nikon Coolpix L15 with 8 megapixels which was much better than the two Canons I had before. I will never buy another digital Canon (but definitely a film camera). One of the Canon's needed to be repaired by the manufacturer less than a year after I bought it. It broke and it took me 2 years to figure out what the problem was. When they sent it back to me it could finally take a picture, too bad the auto focus was pointless.

I got another one from work with more...

I have had both brands, and I definitely prefer Canon. But Nikon isn't bad either.

I know everyone loves Canon's and that's what I would prefer to buy but to get what I would want would probably be over $300. There is a Nikon in Best Buy for $200 and it has 10MP and a 5X optical zoom, but I just don't know how good Nikon's are because I've never had one.
