You can&#39;t go wrong with James Baldwin. His writing is hardcore like a motherfucker, but I&#39;ve enjoyed the couple of titles I&#39;ve read, Beale Street
being one of them. <span style="font-style: italic;">Blues for Mister Charlie</span> changed my life.

little white woman who&#39;s so hardcore passionate about African American lit that she really influenced my taste as well.
