Buy a Sony if you want at least 178GB of disk space. It may look inferior in the looks department than a macbook but it has much more room for files and programs.

While the Sony makes more fiscal sense, I've had a Mac for about 7 years now with very few problems. I'm scared I'll get the sony and run into problems and wish I had my MacBook.

Any opinions on the Vaio?
