I used to bite my nails a lot so I would get fake nails to keep be from biting because it's so gross. I never got them super long. It would vary. Now I just keep my natural nails really short to keep from biting them.

I love getting my nails done. I think they look nice and they really are a sign that you care about what you look like, take care of yourself. Plus, my man loves them.

i get them b/c i like the look of long nails, and my real nails split, crack, peel, and break way too much for me to maintain them. not to mention, i like that polish lasts so long on acrylic. i got so damned tired of my nail polish chipping and wearing off w/i a couple days of me applying it, and that was even after i started using really good products.

My nails are SO thin and ugly. They're like paper and break very easily. So for years I got acrylic ones. I kept them short and liked it a lot. But now I'm trying to save money so I stopped getting them done. I don't like the way my hands look without them.

Now, if I had nice, thick natural nails...I wouldn't get acrylics.

I used to get them done all the time until I transferred to my current position. Lifting 75lbs at a time and breaking a nail sucks. I miss them though.

I get so used to having them and I miss them. I guess its like the same thing when people say 'i cant understand how you go about your day with them' well i get them done so often its hard to see myself without them. I havent had them in a few weeks because I been broke so thats pretty lame. I want them back so bad!

I can't say I hate acrylic nails because I've never got it. My nails are thick and strong and long enough, so I've never really needed it. I hate the looong fake nails look, though. Yuck.

Typing is more difficult, opening/closing jewelry, buttoning small buttons... I could never have long nails. Also, I don't think they look pretty on anyone.

My real nails are weak and brittle and just suck. And yes, I've been trying nail oils, hardener, food supplements for years and years.

Now I have gel nails and do no have to worry about chipping polish or breaking nails at all.
I just wish the refills were cheaper

I guess it depends where you go and what you like. Some people like the long ass nails and I think thats kind of gross. I keep my short and theyre not thick looking so it look like natural nails.

It cost me like $30 for a full set, and then like $13-18 for a fill and I get like 2 fills in a month. It is kind of expensive for me, but I'm broke lol.

I got gel on my natural nails like 3 weeks ago and I HATE them. They looked nice, but made my nails all fatty and I couldn't scratch myself. What's with the fake nail obsession with a lot of women/girls? Like acrylic nails just ruin your natural nails and gel ruined my natural nails too.
