Other than the tattoo on my wrist (that can easily be hidden by a watch or bracelet), I'm honestly not a fan of visible tattoos, so I knew I didn't want it on my arm or leg. I didn't want a tramp stamp (because a bible verse there would have been hilarious), and I have always liked rib tattoos, so it was kind of process of elimination regarding where I was going to put it. The only other place would have been maybe my hip bone, but I didn't want to have to deal with the healing process of that spot (while wearing jeans, etc).

i got my tattoo done this week too! i have to disagree though...i didnt think it really hurt at all. i got mine going down the side of my rib cage. i actually thought it felt kind of cool.

Not a stupid question at all! I had printed out what I had wanted, and I think he traced it, but then he put the stencil on me, took it off, let me look at the placing and correct it, then he did it again until I liked the spot and thought it was straight. He did a great job because we only had to do that twice.

LOL, I am indeed a fatty, Pippy! You can even see my stretch marks a bit. For real though, I probably would have sucked in my excess stomach (cause you can see my ab muscles and then that chunk of fat. ), but I was more afraid of getting accused of sucking in!

Ooo. I really like that. V. nice font choice. Although, I'm partial to comic sans and wingdings for tattoos.

Your midsection looks crazy thing in that picture, but I think it's the angle/way you're turned. haha. That sounds kind of mean. "you look thin in that picture, but I know in reality you're fat. " you know what I mean.

Yep. I know exactly what you mean. You can tell it's very personal and I like tattoos like that... that have a true special meaning.

Erica, it hurt so bad that about 15 minutes into it, when it REALLY hurt, I'd just start to laugh (because I knew I was making some ugly ass faces ), so I don't know if being ticklish had anything to do with it (because I am), or if my adrenaline/endorphins kicked in at that point.

And Ari, that's another reason why I got it there. It's VERY personal and no one but me and whoever I want to see it will know it's there. Of course I initially show everyone when I get it, but you know what I mean.

And thank you DD! People were surprised I didn't get the whole verse (or at least the first part) done, but honestly, I don't know if I could have handled it. Plus, I know the verse-- just looking at it is reminder enough.

Glo, I love it and I love that verse! I think it's a great place for a tattoo, it's obviously for you and the people you want to know it's there will know it's there.
