"Danielle Steel's estimated net worth as of 1997 was $600-$800 million, which has now presumably doubled."

It's ridiculous considering she's such a shitty writer.

Hell, I could write the same book over and over and just change the characters names too! I'll be rich!

I actually enjoy her books.
I like light reading, & they're
fun escapes.

If they don't know whether or not it has "presumably doubled", then i tend to doubt their initial guesstimate.
Besides which you don't get that rich from writing books...or from turning them into Lifetime movies. |

Kaleidoscope and Once In A Lifetime were the only two Danielle Steel books I loved. I've read 5 other books by her - they were extremely boring.

Even if that hasn't doubled, that is A LOT of money.

Did you all know that Sidney Shelton passed away last year? I didn't know until I just googled him. |

She's part of the .00000000000000001% of authors that make a good living writing, though. Most don't even make enough to quite their day jobs.

Genre authors are able to do that a bit easier than your average. There are very, very few writers in the world that make a living off writing, strictly
speaking. Most have to have a day job and write on the side.
