He's not D, but I always thought Renney fit the nerdy chemistry teacher look. "Oh, Canada ..." say it isn't so. While the story of Detroit Red Wings clinching of the Stanley Cup thundered through the hockey world Wednesday night, another story slipped by almost unnoticed. The Canadian Broadcasting System quietly announced it would not longer play the CBC's "Hockey Night in Canada" theme song prior to each game. My fiance is going to be devastated! He sings along every time that comes on. Oh no! I love listening to that theme song! It gets me all pumped up for a Saturday night of hockey.

The hustled to make a statement later in the day saying that that isn't quite accurate. Apparently, (1) the firm that owns the rights to the song is suing CBC for "over use" and (2) CBC lowballed the firm in renegotiating the license to use the song. Just pay them the friggin' $500 per show... yeesh.

Rafalski reminds me of a nerdy science professor That too! I thought it was funny in that one video where his son hugged Zetterberg and Brian's all serious, "Good job, congratulations," shaking his hand. And then after that Brett Lebda like hugs the crap out of Z. Very different personalities.

I know a lot of the guys have video cameras. There's probably well over a million people down there. I was disappointed in FSN's coverage though, it wasn't as good as years past. I prefer Channel 4 but for whatever reason my local NBC station didn't go to the parade because of the French Open.

They're all drinking, Holmer and Chelios were definitely enjoying some beer, and it didn't help that they put all the players in Hockeytown Cafe with I'm sure an open bar before sending them out for the parade.
