I dropped my laptop maybe a foot and a half and it landed on soft carpet. it turns on but the screen doesnt really light up..it has the faintest image and
thats it. i got it less than a year ago for my birthday. i think my mom got it at best buy. do you think it's fixable? will best buy fix it? i'm
assuming it's still under warranty.
any computer experts?

if your mom bought the service plan they will fix it! it will have to be shipped off to be fixed and will take almost 2 weeks to get back...thats IF you have
the service plan at best buy.

Just bring it in and tell them you don't know what's wrong with it. Don't say that you dropped it. If it was on carpet, I'm assuming there are
no scratches or anything. If it's under warranty, they have to fix it. And since it's a problem with the screen, even if they can't fix it, at
least they'll be able to salvage what's on there since your harddrive should still be fine.
