The article doesn't mention that she told people after it happened. That would be a pertinent detail to the article.

Yes, I went on the Rock Boat, but I heard the MayerCraft was even more intense on having most of the people being in the same area, depending on where it was rumored Mayer was, or would be. |

Because she doesn't know who raped her. If you can't bring someone to justice you can sue them monetarily through the third party. No. You can't sue a rapist through a third party. For one thing, suing the third party does not get you any type of shot at the rapist, and for another that would involve you knowing who the rapist is - and if you knew that you'd be suing him directly! What you sue a third party for is for some part they themselves played in the whole thing (in this case, she'll be claiming something along the lines of negligent security set up that allowed the rapist to strike), either as a supplement to or a replacement for suing the rapist. But you don't sue the rapist *through* the third party. |

I worded that poorly. I know they can't sue a rapist through a third party. But sixthman/Carnival is the third party so they can't find the dude, so
she's suing them for her rape.
And she claims she was raped at night on the 4th. We were off the ship on the morning of the 4th. So either she was raped at night on the 3rd or the morning of the 4th. We were in the disco from probably midnight-3 am on the 4th. We saw/heard nothing. It wasn't even terribly loud either that night either. |

In that other article from CBS it says he was identified and they're referring to him as John Doe in the lawsuit (I guess to protect his identity).

I would never take a cruise! A lot of people do not realize that once a ship sails into the ocean it is considered an independent nation. Someone can commit a
crime on the ship (i.e., sexual assault, spousal abuse, etc, etc) and not be prosecuted under U.S. laws unless the crime is a murder.

for someone to deal with. To this very day (and this has been almost 7 years ago now), I still can't remember everything about that night...just a few
bits and pieces.

I wonder when this alleged thing happened. I know for a FACT on the first night in the Disco, in the corner you ladies were talking about, I was over there all
night and until it closed. The ship workers were hanging over there and drinking. Because my friend and I met this really hot guy that worked for Carnival.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened over there in the corner.
My opinion, lots of chicks were trashed on that boat. It was like a breeding ground for perverts and creeps. Because you are not in another country, and you are abiding by rules that may not help you, you have to be careful. There were strange people everywhere like the Spiderman, some dude who gave me a bottle of Petron (I made him drink it first to make sure it wasn't loaded with anything), Jay Tay, and so on. I am not saying it was her fault, who asks to be raped, but she and her friends should have been careful. When you are chicks traveling in situations like this that involve alcohol and possibly drugs, you gotta watch out. I would KILL my friends if they let shit happen to me and vice versa. |

She says it happened on the 4th at night.
You know we weren't even on the ship on the 4th at night. We got off at 9:30 am. So either it happened on the 3rd at night or the morning of the 4th. And she says it happened in the Adriatic Lounge (someone said where DRH played). I'm also confused because they said she told people immediately and was trying to get stuff done. A). Carnival would've reported the rape to the FBI (they have been doing it lately when it recently happened) and they would've got on the ship in Freeport. B). Nothing stays quiet on a cruiseship. If it happened right away (this is contradictory too b/c the way the person who knows the friend of this person says it was like right away...why did the lawsuit say the 4th?).

The fourth night?
That right there would have said um your story checks
out.
The wait staff brought drinks to people in that room. And I believe they closed off the alcohol because didn't they have to settle the sail and signs? On that last night, I don't think anything happened in that room after the Superbowl? Or am I mistaken. I had my JM show that night and was in the club or gambling afterwards. That chick looks familiar though. |

I know things happen right away. I'm saying that the person saying it happened right away on the ship, it would've definitely been floating around the
ship by that night...just like the girl who crashed into the motorscooter. So there's people saying it happened right away (within the first day) yet the
media were told the 4th. So someone is obviously not right.

I don't think you can totally judge the situation from one report. Articles have tons of inaccuracies all the time. Plus, cruises are known as places where
rape is frequent and unreported. Its actually more common than people think. Maybe its all BS it seems unfair to assume simply from one thing.

This doesn't surprise me regarding Carnival. My mom was assaulted by her statesman in her own cabin on Liberty in April. All Carnival could offer were
their deep condolences. He wasn't even fired.
