(which is about five times a year) my parents get pissed that I want to use the kitchen after 10:00 p.m.. I try to be very quiet when I'm making something,
but that doesn't seem to matter.

You are allowed to use the kitchen after 10? After 10 is strictly "eat something already made" time in our house
I feel your pain

My parents are the same way, actually its my mom. She doesn't want me to be loud and wake up my dad who goes to bed at 10 every night.

I'd die if I weren't allowed in the kitchen after 10. I think I eat more food after 10, than before.

Its a rule in our house, no loud food before 10am because my mom sleeps.

I usually just want to make some leftovers, which was the case tonight. It's not my fault that their bedroom door is right by the kitchen and they have the
door open tonight. It's also not my fault that I have a sister that's two and she still stays in my parent's room.
Some times I just get frustrated, it's not like I'm doing something terrible. |

Is their room close to the kitchen? I think it's a bit extreme, but it's their house.
I'd keep a bunch of junk food in my room or something, in that situation. |

Can you quietly shut their door? My parents bedroom is right next to the kitchen too, but they've never complained about my midnight snacking, so I assume
I haven't woken them up.

I don't keep junk food in the room I stay in because I have to share with my nine year-old brother and I think he might get into it. I wouldn't care so
much, but I think he'd sneak the food because he's diabetic and my mom watches his diet pretty carefully.

the only rule we had growing up was no pop before 11am.
thankfully that was the only one. but i was also too chicken to go down and get food when i was younger because the dog would bark at me. |

It's only 11 here! Well, 11-ish now. And they just shut the door... they're probably... *shivers* eww...

I could light fireworks in my parents bedroom and they wouldn't wake up.

I can't wait until my youngest siblings get old enough to want to be in the kitchen! Then I want to hear what their excuse will be.
