1. How she cannot sell an album to save her life. Seriously, Kid Rock has sold about the same as her and that is including her 5 billion hits, being showered
with awards and press, AND a rerelease on her part. KID ROCK. (and yes, I already know all the excuses Rihanna fans)
2. How I end up loving every single she puts out o-O |

I cannot believe you compared Kid Rock and Rihanna.
 I think Kid Rock does more for the music industry (talent and sale wise) than Rihanna could ever
dream.

I kind of think that Rihanna and Jordin Sparks try a little too hard.
Colbie Caillat, Amy Winehouse, Kid Rock, and Jack Johnson are a certain kind of artist. They're "I'm unique/different/independent/authentic/real/down-to-earth/realatable" artists. People love that. Rihanna tries to hard to be a bad girl and Jordin just tries to hard period.

She's referring to album sales which, and this has been proven several times, has very little to do with talent and very much to do with promotion. The
sicker I am of a person, the more albums they seem to sell which is why I'm surprised about Rihanna.

I like some of her songs, they're catchy and all. What I don't get is why people think she's so hot. She had a gigantic head and a little
face...she kind of looks like a cartoon to me.

IDK how to explain this b/c I can't but I feel like Rihanna is one of those artists that can't make it really BIG. I mean, like she'll always be
under someone.....I don't fucking know how to explain it.
Like I can picture Amy Winehouse as a big name (lets take out the drugs factor for a minute)
but I can't see Rihanna like that. Same thing with Jordin Sparks. I don't really see/hear a lot of promo about her though tbh. I think Jordin would
have to change up her image for people to really take notice.
And yes, I am a Rihanna fan. I've never actually bought her cds though....just d/l. |

I wonder if her lack of talent has anything at all to do with her sales though. I bet it is just that people in her target audience don't buy cds anymore.
Her songs are very catchy even though her voice is a cracked up mess. I am glad though that even with radio shoving songs/people down our throats, they don't determine who actually sells the most anymore. They had far too much control and I can only hope things like this are a sign of their power fading. Rihanna will make her money either way. She used to look just like a Bratz doll to me, but now that she's lost all of her baby fat she looks a little different. |
