Fargo is an hour out of the way.... plus another 30 - 45 minutes just to get to the mall, have them fix it, and then head out. And, given my mom's track record, I know she'd find a few things she needs to get at Target, or the vacuum cleaner store or something, etc., etc. (making the stop more like 1.5 - 2 hours, plus the additional hour of driving time.)
I got kind of pissed.... told my dad my brother's 27, and needs to start taking care of things on his own. I told him if I needed a new watch, and I called my mom and told her I did, she'd tel me to go to the mall and buy a new one the next time I'm there. My brother doesn't buy ANYTHING like that on his own....it's so pathetic! And he lives in the Cities, which is 3+ hours away, and my parents drive all the way down there to get him and bring him home when he wants to visit? Then drive all the way down there to bring him home!? But I suppose it's kind of hard for him to get around to Target/grocery stores/the mall/etc. when his driver's license has been suspended since last summer...... and he spends his money on drugs...... and he's probably $3,000 back in child support..............

It doesn't do any
good anymore. He keeps sucking them back in. It's like a cycle; he'll do something completely idiotic (like the cheating on his pregnant wife and
ending up at the mental hospital + Detox) and they'll shun him for a long time.... then he slowly reels them back in.... and it gets to the point where it
is now (which is them buying him shit that he needs, spending $100 on gas to go to the Cities to see him, etc.)
