The hell? Mine don't get filthy. And if they happened to, I wash them anyway, so.

If your pants get 'filthy', why can't you bring an extra pair to work, then change them out halfway during the day?
If you do your laundry every weekend, you can make by with having to only have 10 pairs of khakis for a workweek. But you seem pretty determined to wear your 'yoga' pants to work, which, of course, if your choice. But you have to realize then that *most* people will see you as looking sloppy and unprofessional. (Regardless of how fantastic you are at your job.) |

I work with toddlers who put anything & everything on my clothes. It's not a matter of washing them, it is a matter of looking dirty all day long.
I don't wear lighter clothes to work in general because they show up the dirt much more. |

Yeah, I'm sure you do wonderfully at your job. I have a mutual respect for anyone who works in a daycare and doesn't go insane, because I have days
where I question what sanity I may have left.
But yoga-styled pants still aren't professional. Khakis, or even darker colored pants of similar material (ie: not sweats) look nice and are still comfortable. You don't even have to spend a ton on them if you're worried about wasting money and clothing that'll get ruined. Walmart it if you need to. |

How in the world would the khakis get filthy but the sweats would stay clean?

I'm sorry, but I'm really failing to see here how yoga/jogging/sweat-pants will keep looking clean throughout the day in your mind, yet jeans and khakis won't? If the kids are putting any and everything on your clothing, why does the material of the clothing play at part in whether they'll stay/look clean or not? |

Kris700 wrote: Color choice. I'm saying Tan colored Khakis show up the dirt worse because of the light color. The sweats don't not get dirty but it is harder to tell with darker colors. It is not material that matters, it is the color. I wear dark colored jeans a lot because of this.

LOL so true
If you wore sweatpants to work here, you'd get fired. I wouldn't wear them to the damn grocery store let alone to work! WTF are you people thinking? They are not appropriate for work unless you work at a gym! |

To the people saying sweats are okay- is this because youre under a certain age?
You would still think it was okay if a 50 year old lady at a preschool was walking around in sweats and a tank top? And if youre a guy teacher would... basketball long shorts be okay? |

Then get some dark colored pants/jeans! Chino pants are available in many colors, as are cargo pants. Claiming that you have to wear sweats is a lame way to justify the fact that you want to dress like a slob. |

I used to work at a private pre-school that catered to the upper class parents and let me tell you if I wore sweats to that school any day of the week, they
would kick my ass out of there before I said hello.

Okay, khakis come in dark colors, like navy and black.
So there is no need to only wear light-colored khakis.

That is nice, but I wouldn't know that from your post that I quoted, or from the fact that you are defending the idea of wearing sweats to work. |

Stop acting like I wear sweats everyday...geez. I already stated I don't. |

But wearing yoga/sweat pants out in public as part of an outfit is attractive and young and hip-looking? Okay. And from your first post... And the whole sweatpant thing? I will be breaking that rule in the winter. If they send me home to change, zippy chance I am coming back the same day. But, like I said earlier, you seem pretty determined to wear your 'yoga' pants to work, so I'll just butt out now, LOL. |

Would you mind posting a pic of these yoga pants that you wear to work?
Since you say they look better than the pants I posted, I'm going to assume they are some kind of 'designer' sweatpants. And not some $10 sweats from KMart, right? I'm honestly curious as to what good-looking sweatpants look like, as I've never personally seen a pair. |
