I feel for you. My daughter is the same way. It's like she's fighting for survival or something.
How old is he? |

He's 6, and he has autism. He fights it, and screams, and it's just a nightmare for everyone involved.

Poor thing. My daughter is 5. She fights so bad. She stuck the candy, Nerds, in her ears a couple of months ago. (She said she was tired of hearing her
sister talk.) I took her to the ER and they were only able to get the one out of her right ear. They couldn't get the one in her left ear. I had to take
her to a ear, nose and throat doctor the next morning. She fought him so bad that he said she needed to be put to sleep. (Because the nerd was on her eardrum
and if she jerked he could damage the ear). So we went in for surgery that afternoon. I told the anesthesiologist that she fought. The lady looked at me
like I was stupid and said, "We deal with kids all the time. I'm sure we can handle her." I was like, "OK!" Well, to her SURPRISE,
it took me, 4 MALE nurses and the male doctor to hold a 35 lb, 5 year old girl. I looked at the anesthesiologist and raised my eyebrows at her. (since I had
the surgical mask on I couldn't smirk). The look on her face (or eyes) was priceless.

My daughter's 2 and freaks everytime we go into the doctor's office; doesn't matter what they're doing. From standing on the scale, to getting
her temperature taken and especially when it's time for shots. I have no idea where the fear of the whole office experience came from, but she's a real
fighter from the moment we hit the door til she's tearfully telling the doctor "Bye-Bye"

I freak out over shots.
When I was 10, I remember being put to sleep with the IV and I fought. Well, after the needle, I realized I was getting groggy and I tried to fight that off, but I was out like a light less than a minute later. |

That feeling must be the worst! To have to restrain him when he's fighting so hard.

Bah that sucks. Restraining an autistic child is HARD. I work with autistic children, and my legs are still black and blue from may. I actually went to the
doctor the other day and he looked and apparently my entire bone is bruised, like not just a regular bruise, the bone is badly bruised.

If you hold him from below the armpits, it'll calm him down too. I don't know why, but it triggers something and always wrks when I need to calm a
screaming fit.

I couldn't hold him from the armpits, because the shots needed to go into the shoulder. So I had to hold him so that no part of his shoulder or arm would
move.

When my brother freaked out he freaked out like no one I've ever seen. He was getting his boosters to start school and he was acting like they were going
to euthenize him no exageration.
My parents tried to hold him down, and it actually took 2 nurses on each arm, my parents on both legs, and a doctor to give him A LIQUID lol. because he was still struggling so hard. and when he took the liquid he was like gurgling and ish because he refused to swallow. |

I was scared when I was little but nothing abnormal. I really hated when they put that thing on your tongue and make you say ahhh. i always used to choke on it
and the taste of it would make me gag.
im kind of scared of needles but i know it needs to get done so i just look away and want them to just do it. the part where im anticipating it is the worst for me. |
