Didn't we all pretty much predict that the excuse for the pregnancy/Reneesme or however you spell that ridiculous name would be that she always intended
her to be there and it was just the way the story had to be? Maybe this is me being over-critical because it's not how I'd do it, but if you don't
have a better explanation than that for pulling established canon inside out you are really not doing your job IMO. I'm a big fan of plot twists that
sucker punch you, but they have to be well explained or people just look at you like you grew two heads.

Boooo those are such cop out answers
I don't WANT a Nessie/Jacob sequel! I'd rather she write a sequel for The Host. |

Maybe she made a mistake in not watching Buffy. Joss and co were masters at making the strangest shit still fly and make some kind of sense, she could have
taken notes
Is anybody else thinking about re-reading Twilight just to rinse out Breaking Dawn... when it was just Bella and Edward and a psycho tracker we had to worry about? |

Reading that was absolutely ridiculously hilarious. It shows she has no grasp on her own characters, has a hard-on for Jacob/Nessie which she plans to write,
this was a plot she had in 2003 before the other books were conceptualized, and the publisher was against it..and wanted it to end at Eclipse. They probably
knew it was shit but couldn't turn down their cash cow.. and the chance to make mad money off of it.
Those answers weren't even cop-outs..they literally did not make any sense if you think about them above a second grade level understanding of the series. Plus, the answers that are like "wait and see" is more like.. I need more time to make stuff up when I realized you guys wouldn't buy this BS. Also, pimping a "guide" to bleed the fandom dry of every dollar. It basically hinted again at everything I've been thinking since I heard the spoilers. That I don't think Jacob/Bella was originally planned at all. Certainly not to the degree we got it. Breaking Dawn was more of a test to see if she could publish her Jacob/Nessie stories by introducing it to the audience in an already popular vehicle.. and had almost nothing to do with B/E after the wedding. Her answers about Bella being a perfect vampire..and willing to die for her baby were particularly ridiculous. Those things may have made sense if foreshadowed by Bella's character in previous books. But all we have heard is how HARD it is to abstain from human blood. Thats what made it so romantic that Edward could do it.. and still be close to her. Yet, Bella is "born" like that because she is a little stubborn? Plus, you could have foreshadowed Bella's maternal side by making her a little less selfish if thats where you were going with it. It sounds more like she was talking about herself than the character. /End Rant |

9. Why did Bella keep her baby, knowing what Edward said about it killing her?Ugh. She is assuming that everyone wants a damn baby. And she is assuming that as soon as one gets pregnant, they automatically have a change of heart and need that baby. Hey, I am not one for abortions at all, but SM is just making it seem that everyone will feel the same when they get pregnant. Typical. I said she was going to give half-assed answers! Dammit. She could at least own up to her stupidness and say that things in this book don't make sense! And what the hell with that name. Like she couldn't think of a better one. Ah, I guess because Audio Science was taken, she had to go with Renessme. |

I can't add anything to that, you got it all right. And I'm still so damn bitter.
I'm going to continue on my ranting ways, I am NOT 10 and that just does not fly. It just sounds ridiculous. |

99th (sorry hon, don't know your name) I agree with everything you just said, this just proves she has no grasp on her characters and that her planning was
next to non-existent. I'm all for having an unexpected brain wave but it's still got to make sense and read like you planned it the whole time, not a
last second add-on
I really wonder what the last couple of books would be like with a publisher/editor who made her at least go back and map out this stuff properly. Even JK Rowling's talked about her editor constantly questioning everything to check continuity/making sense, and she planned like a demon for years longer. Seems like with Stephenie they just didn't want to upset the cash cow and gave her the freedom to tie her plots up in knots, if you'll excuse my rhyming. |

this is a call wrote: Although I agree with you that she makes some assumptions, at the same time, Bella has always been a little self-sacrificing. It's not out of
character. Think back to Twilight--she banished herself to Forks for her mom (self-sacrificing), she goes off to meet James to protect Edward, in New Moon she
enters the lions den and goes to the Volturi to save Edward, in Eclipse she's ready to sacrifice herself to save Edward and Seth from Victoria (she
identified with the 3rd wife). So, while it could be read as an assumption, I didn't feel that it was totally out of character for Bella to want to keep
the baby. No matter how f-ed up the situation was that she got pregnant in the first place.

See, YOUR explanation of that makes about ten times more sense than Stephenie's because yours actually relates to Bella and not some mystic feeling of
motherhood.

Well, thanks. You just made me feel like I'm so much smarter than her. Maybe I can become a bestselling author and then when I'm on my fourth book,
I'll leak the copy to all of you.

She wouldn't even have to explain herself if she logically made sense in her own book.

It's true. She's not the most eloquent of speakers. Or can say anything really very intelligent when she's talking.
I'll do it, Val. If I can come up with a brilliant story/plot/characters/etc. And I promise to end it WAY better than Breaking Dawn. |
