I'm going to college in 10 days and my roommate and I were talking about what we are going to do about a TV. One idea was to split the price of one and
share it. But then who gets it at the end? We're not sure what we are going to do..so I was just wondering what any of you did when you went to college.

I had one, so I just told my roommate I would bring it. Then when we got an apartment Junior year, I had the biggest TV so it went in the living room.

Most of my friends just got one of those cheap TV/VCR combos and used that. Wal Mart and Target have good deals on older style sets, maybe you guys could
donate it after? Or give it to another student who might be coming in and can't afford one?

One of you just needs to suck it up and buy it. It's not like you won't get it back at the end of the year.

Freshman year my roommate brought it. All the other years we used mine. Someone should buy the TV and keep it at the year of the year. The other one can buy
something else you need for the room.

My dorms are apartments so freshman year all 4 of us brought a tv and one of the two who shared a room put their tv in my room and mine went in the living room
since it was biggest so it worked better for movies & company, and I still have a tv in my room to watch whenever I wanted. Sophomore year I kept my tv in
my own room and there wasn't one in the living room because my roommates were stingy bitches.

Yeah, splitting the price is not a good idea.
But I don't recall being in my room long enough to watch TV. I was always out somewhere |

WE each had our own tv in our room.

yeah...and now I'm thinking that I might not even want a TV at all. I don't really watch that much TV anyway and I can watch movies on my computer and
many TV shows are online now anyway. I don't know...I guess I just feel like she really wants one and I don't want to be a bad roommate!

yea tell her to buy it herself. then if there is something you want ask to watch but don't be suprised if she keeps it in her room or something. don't
give her a cent towards it though.

I brought my own for my roommate and I to share my freshman year. So she brought the mini fridge. It worked out well.

Don't split anything major like a tv or fridge. If you don even want a tv she should suck it up and buy it.

I bought a TV and used it during my frosh year. I had 2 other roommates so each of us was in charge of something big (I brought the TV, 1 brought the fridge
and 1 brought the microwave). I think that's the easiest way to do it. If you don't want to watch TV, tell her to get 1 if she wants. If you do that,
be sure that you don't watch it then at all (unless of course you make things even like I said by buying/bringing some other "big" item).
Definitely don't split it. We did that during my senior year. I KNEW it wasn't going to be a good idea I offered to bring my brother's 19" for the living room but half of
my roommates wanted a bigger one. We all chipped in and bought it. I still have no idea wtf happened to it (I think one of them took it maybe). I told them
from the beginning that I wasn't going to deal with trying to sell it and of course none of them took the initiative to do it either. Since I was over
college, was gone alot, and didn't want to deal with the TV anymore, I didn't bring it up and didn't care what happened to it.
