How much did you work along with going to school? How hard was it? Was your job on campus or off? Did your grades suffer? I'm applying for two on campus
desk jobs and hope to get one. I'm worried my grades will go down if I work, but I have to because I didn't get a job this summer. I'm hoping to
work about 10-15 hours.

I have worked off campus and on, and I worked anywhere from 20 to 40 hours a week.
When I lived in Boulder, CO and went to CU, I worked about 20-35 hours a week and took an average of 15 hours working 40 hours through the summer, and taking about 8 credits over the summer. I worked off campus as a commercial insurance agent - and might I add made really great money. When I transferred from CU to UW, I worked on campus around 20 hours a week at the IT department and took between 18 and 21 hours per semester. It was tough, but once it was all over and I got out of school debt free, it was all worth it. |

I work 40 hours a week and go to college part time. When I'm accepted into the Radiography program, I'm going to work full time for as long as I can.
Currently I have a 3.79 GPA, which I'm proud of.

I worked 20 hours per week while doing a joint JD/MBA degree and I had a baby at home. Was it hard? Yup, at times, but I firmly believe that you do what you
need to do.

Senior year I worked 3 jobs all on campus and still managed a 4.0gpa. I worked around 20 hours a week.

I did 20-30 hours. I had two on-campus jobs, one at an office and another as an RA (and some other off campus jobs freshman-junior year). It wasn't too
horrible and my grades didn't suffer. I don't think 10-20 hours a week is at all impossible nor difficult.
What I can't understand is how the athletes at my school held down part-time jobs, played their sport, went to class and managed to sleep at all. |

My junior and senior years I was an RA plus had two jobs on top of that. My grades didn't suffer--but I didn't have much of a social life.

Now I work 10-15 hours a week. For two semesters I worked about 35 hours a week and I was taking 12 credits. That was really hard.

I worked 25-30 hours a week on campus, and usually took 18 credit hours (6 classes). I found it completely manageable. I didn't get anything below an A in
my last 3 semesters.

I work 15-25 hours a week but I don't live on campus. I have a 4.0 and I am graduating in December. Works for me.

I worked about 10-15 hours per week on campus at the Campus Center. It really didn't effect my school work in anyway since I was able to do some work like
sitting at the front desk/information. And I only worked 2-3 hours per day usually in between classes so I had time in the evening to study, etc.
If you're working a desk job chances are you won't be doing that much work so you can always work on your classes while sitting there.

My last semester in college, I was doing 18 creds, an internship 3 days a week and working 30 hours a week. It was hard, and it led me to drink A LOT (

I always had a job during college. I was also in a sorority and active in a lot of on-campus activities. If anything I think it made my grades better because I
was always on the go. I didn't really have time to sit around and procrastinate/be bored.

I've always worked while in college. I take classes fulltime and have worked anywhere between 18-35 hours a week. This semester I'll be working about
24 hours a week. I find it a little difficult, but I think it's mostly because I have anxiety so both work and school stress me out. I also don't have
much of a social life outside of work and classes during semesters. My jobs have always been off campus, but I'm a commuter so it was better for me. I had
enough of school while I was there...I always wanted my work to be separate
I feel like my grades kind of suffered last year because I had gotten a new job which was much different and more stressful than the one I had before. The hours changed every week and many times I'd get called in just days or even hours before I needed to be at work so it was next to impossible for me to have any kind of schedule or organization. Now I have a new job which I really like and I find the atmosphere to be very pleasant which helps a lot. I'll also have a steady schedule this semester (same hours every week) as opposed to the crazy one I had last school year which I think will be helpful. |

I worked full time when I was in college. I was in retail for about 30 hours a week and I nannied 10-15 hours a week, too.
It's doable. I made good money as a nanny but the kids were in school so I picked them up and had to help with homework and stuff so I didn't really have time to study while I worked at either job. But I had to pay for my education so I had no choice. |

I only did it during my last semester and around the last month or month and a half. It was only one day and my teacher let me go early because it was a
computer class and he knew I knew what the heck I was doing and didn't care if I left.
I also worked every Saturday but that didn't interfere with school. |

When my son was 5 weeks I went back to work full time and went to school part time. My bf at the time was pretty much no help at all, and let me tell ya it
was HARD. This semester I am taking 7 credits and working full time, but now I am a single mom. (Although I DO live at home!)

I've always worked part time and have gone to school full time. Last semester was a little stressful because I took 15 credits, worked 28 hrs a week and
had an internship with a baseball team, but it was all worth it.
