And she didn't even ask me question -- she kind of just told me what I'd be doing and introduced me to everyone. I thought that'd be like surefire way to know I got it, but it's been almost a week and I haven't gotten a call back Do people usually interview for close to two hours ?

I got a job with the dean of science no problem. She hired me on the spot. But I really want this job b/c it's directly related to my field and recommendation letters from them would be super amazing. I guess I don't know the protocal because every job interview I've had I've gotten the job and I've never needed to send a TY note or email because it's pretty much instant. is it too late to send an email? Like "just wanted to thank you for the oppurtunity to interview" or would that look weak since the interview was Thursday?

My university is notoriously slow in the hiring process, so when they called me about 2 weeks later, I was flabbergasted. Usually it takes a few months!

Posts: 79037 (08/19/2008 9:32 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Block Invite Ignore	In all fairness, she did say she had other people to interview, though I'm not sure if it was last week or this week, BUT she told me she wanted to hire someone soon. I mean, I have an interview at Macy's on Friday, so it's not like the end of the world if I dont get this. I would be working, like, 45-50 hours a week if I did get it, but it's just a great opportunity that I couldn't pass up. But I took this interview at Macys just to be safe. They hired a new interim dean and a bunch of new employees, so you'd think they'd want to hire everyone faster!
