I got a bad reaction to my thesis today |

Not a bad one, but one that made me nervous. I gave a brief description to a professor and her exact reaction was getting really wide eyes and then asking me
if "that feels overwhelming because it sounds more like a dissertation or my first book rather than a thesis"

I had a similar reaction to a research paper of mine. It's not the same thing at all, but cut back.

Well, I think part of the problem is I did not explain that I DO have a focus-I just kind of threw out the type of project I was doing rather than specifying.
Plus, I have already been working with my thesis adviser to narrow it down and keep it under control. But, it still made me nervous. I am glad she does think
it could be a dissertation or first book because that is where I am eventually going with it! I will take that positive feeling from the experience

LOL I got that in my thesis prep class.
I have to go over to school tomorrow to sign up for my thesis for this fall. 
However, he helped me nail it down to what I want to do.

Well that's good. If a professor asks me what I want to focus on for my paper/project whatever in one of my major classes and I don't know what I want
to do yet, I always say Violence & Media. Just to freak them out.
