What was the deal with the wristbands? When did One Republic go on? I got there a little after 8 and I thought they hadn't gone on. Then John comes on a
little before 9. That was an amazing concert. I was in the back on the floor and there was definitely an interesting crowd back there, really mixed. I loved
the show though. I want to see him again already.

One Republic came on at 7:30. That was surprising as everyone thought the show would start at 8 pm.

I was at the venue at 11:30am and started waiting for a wristband around 12:20-12:30pm-ish. I've been to plenty of GA shows at the Borgata and within the
past year they started giving out wristbands to people who arrive very early at the venue to be right up front at the barricade. The REAL reason the security
guards give out wristbands is because they don't want a huge crowd of people congregating downstairs infront of the escalators. So by giving people
wristbands, it gets people away from the venue until they actually HAVE to be there. Still, people have to wait there if they want a wristband but just
can't be near the area where the escalators are. It's really a flawed system (since they don't give the wristbands out until late even if
you've been waiting for HOURS like I have for MANY concerts there) but I'm sort of 50/50 on it. If you get to the venue early then I do think you
should be "rewarded" by getting up front. It is what it is. The thing is, they don't tell you about the wristbands because it's supposed to
be a "hush, hush, don't tell" type of thing. When I saw Aerosmith at the Borgata last year, I was crushed because I was told they gave out
wristbands for people who arrived extremely early at the venue and I had no idea about it. I paid over $100 a ticket and I was pretty far back from the stage
after all was said and done. So believe me, I sympathize for the people who didn't have wristbands and didn't know anything about the wristbands for
the John Mayer show because I went through it too for Aerosmith. The reason why I got a wristband was because I learned from that Aerosmith show. I literally
have a huge stack of wristbands from recent GA shows I've attended there. It's crazy, lol.
Bottom line is: If you EVER go to a General Admission show at the Borgata from here on out, get there EARLY and do a whole lot of waiting for a wristband. In the end, it pays off. So that cat is out of the bag, lol.

Thanks for that info. I mean I didn't care about being up front. In all honesty I wanted to buy a ticket with a seat but I couldn't seem to get those
online. I was just upset I missed One Republic. I mean if the show starts at 8 why does the opening act go on at 7:30? That is just weird. Anyways I got to see
John, which is all that mattered. I would have showed up at 7:30 though if I knew I could see One Republic. I just wanted to do the least amount of standing I
could do. I guess you gotta know the venue. I went to BSB last week at House of Blues and doors opened at 8 and we got there at like 8:15. The opener
didn't go on until after 9 and BSB went on close to 10:15. I guess I figured One Republic would go on a little after 8 and then John would come on some
time after 9.

Yeah exactly, the main thing is you have to know the venue because if you don't then you wouldn't know the whole wristband thing, lol. It's really
sucky but I guess it's how they do things now.
It was weird that OneRepublic came on earlier than they should have. I wondered why. Maybe they had somewhere to be...? *shrugs* |

Thanks for explaining. It makes sense. So where were they giving out wristbands? In front of the escalator or was it by the box office? Was security telling
people they were giving wristbands out or did you have to go and ask for one.
ilovensyncsarah.. when you got to HOB at 8:15, did you have a good spot? |

It was ok. I mean I could tell some of the BSB fans had been there early for the show. I use to be so into being the first person at a GA show, right up
against the stage. I mean for Justin I would get there hours in advance. I am too old for that now though, 25.

Sham99 wrote:They were giving out wristbands infront of the escalators. To my knowledge, it's always infront of the escalators since late last year. Security would approach someone or a group of people if they were standing too close to the escalators and would tell them about the wristbands and to leave. I saw this and I saw people actually going up to security asking questions about the show and security would say the same thing and told people to come back around 4pm for them. It goes both ways, lol. I left the escalator area but was still in the vicinity of it. So once it was time for wristbands, I just shot right up to the escalator for it to begin the line. Wristbands are numbered and whatever number you have, you have to line up in numerical order in the way you were standing once you got them. Wristband people get taken upstairs around a side enterance by the stage and you go in a few minutes early before everyone else. |

What number was your wristband? When they let you guys in a side room, was it madness when you were let into the main room? Everyone running to the stage and
getting their spot etc...
So you guys were basically in the side room the while time till like what time.. we were let in at 6:30 or so. |

Well I had #12 but the stupid security guards were ripping the wristbands apart all at once to separate them and they got some of them out of order. They are
so fucking stupid, I swear. When I saw The Killers there, they ripped them apart one by one for each person so it was in order, but the wristbands for this one
were not. I was third in line and got #12. It worked out in the end because somehow #'s 1-7 weren't used because I think the guy who ended up being
first in numerical order was #8. I don't understand it, lol. There were 4 people ahead of me, including my mom, once we were upstairs.
It wasn't a room. It was just a side area a little ways from where the main doors are, to mainly separate people who had wristbands and those who did not. All the people sat down on the floor and waited for the side doors to open. I believe they let us in around 6:45pm. In my past experiences it's usually 6:55pm. Once the doors opened, we were all told not to run. If you run, then I think you get thrown out or something, lol. It's the same routine every time. It wasn't madness. Instead of running, you just walk really fast, lol. It works out fine. I got dead center infront of Mayer at the barricade, thank God.

Pecan were you next to the big guy with the baseball cap? Were you the girl in the front who got sick? Oh so basically they let you guys in right before the other GA people.. as I think we got let in around the same time. I know I came in and everyone was lined up. |

There was a big guy who was the first guy in the line upstairs, but I don't recall him wearing a baseball cap. Perhaps it's not the same guy. But I was
by this big guy in the line but when the side doors opened up for us, he went to the left side of the stage and I went to the middle. So I was nowhere near him
once we got inside. The girl who got sick (passed out) was maybe 5-10 people over from where I was. She was also right by me in the line but once we got in she
was on the right side of the stage. I saw her pass out and I was concerned for her, but then I saw she came back after security took her out for a while. So
I'm glad she was ok in the end.
And yeah, if you have a wristband, you go ahead of the other GA people. Then those people follow right after. |

Were you near the girl with the orange hair who made a shirt for John? |

Pecan603 |

Nope. In line I was but not once we were all let inside, lol.
I'm a very petite person. I have long brown hair with blonde highlights, glasses and I was wearing jeans and a black sleeveless shirt with a glitter lightning bolt on it. I don't know if that will ring a bell, lol.
