The Church of Scientology hurts people. The Church of Scientology destroys families. The Church of Scientology kills.
Whether you believe in Xenu, Jesus, Mohammed or The Flying Spagetti Monster is inconsequential. Anonymous thinks people are free to believe how they choose. As soon as those beliefs end in murder, suicide, forced abortions and work camps, it's time to stand up and say that that is not okay, and it must stop. This is why we protest.
S/O Have you ever seen protesters against Scientology with..

Anyone who compares this "religion" to Christianity obviously hasn't read up on it. Even Hubbard's own son, who use to be a top Scientology
official has said that the whole religion is about making money and blackmailing people for their secrets. If you don't think its a cult, I suggest you
read up on it.
The people in masks are ex-scientologists and family members of scientologists. There are countless stories out there of ex-members who can vouche for the fact that they are a dangerous cult, NOT a religion. They are only classified as a church for tax purposes.

I didn't compare it, only said that Christianity was considered a cult at one point in time. I still say it's no one's business what other people
believe.
Oops, I did compare it. But only in the sense of it being something the majority doesn't believe in. |

I love when people wikipedia and google search false stories from so called former scientologists and choose to believe it all. I really don't care about
the religion, but I've seen the shit first hand and its not "creepy" and they certainly haven't brainwashed my family members who study it.
Look hard enough into ANY religion and you're going to find some scary shit.

It's no one's business until the people are responsible for deaths, which they are. False stories? Wikipedia? I've read published articles.
And do you seriously believe that Hubbard's own son made all that up? He has been in hiding for years to escape the scrutiny of its members. I'm not saying everyone involved is evil, but the top people are certainly corrupt and there's more than enough evidence to prove that.

I can pull up a thousand published articles on religious related deaths. I just think its ridiculous people form an opinion on something without even going
directly to the source itself.
It amuses me that people(jjb in general) all the sudden care about Scientology when it's been around for many years all because its the latest trend in Hollywood. |

Like I said, I don't practice it. I know if my father had that kind of power I'd try my hardest to try and bring him down. You don't know what the extent of their relationship was. There's 2 sides to every story. |

His father really has nothing to do with this because his son was a top figure for a long time in the "church". No need to get offended, after going
to their website and reading about them, and then reading other articles, I've formed an opinion that they are in fact a cult. I wanted to think it was all
exaggeration but there's just too much information out there for me to believe its an innocent religion. I'm not comparing them other religions because
from what I've read, I'm not aware of any other big religions that are cults. You assume I'm uninformed just because my opinion differs from
your's.
And I've been interested in Scientology for years now ever since I read about Manson being a member. I've read about numerous cults and they all share the same characteristics that I haven't seen in other religions (recruiting lost/weak-minded people, isolating them, threatening them, etc). The question should be have YOU actually read up on them? Not just from the source itself but outside sources as well? That's the only way you can really have a well informed opinion. |

People have a right to practice whatever beliefs they want, just as others have a right to protests against batshit crazy religions. Not sure what it'll
solve, but hey, gives them something to do.
