My friend has been crushing on this guy, and he finally asked her out to drinks/dinner on Friday (with a group, but still!). She's going to go but said
that even though she's batshit crazy about him, she couldn't "date" him seriously because he's beautiful and has a perfect body, and she
doesn't want him to see her naked and her fat stomach. Now, she's not fat to me, maybe about 30 pounds (?) overweight, but I think she's so pretty,
and obviously he does, too, and I can't believe she'd turn him down because of this. I mean, I don't get it. Have any of you done this, or would
you?

I have rejected someone because I felt self conscious. It's sad but what can I say.

But what if he's supposed to be the love of your life!

Sadly, yes. There's that nagging thought in my heading telling me that he was too good looking for me.

No. Obviously her weight doesn't matter to him if he's asking her out, I don't understand why she'd be self-conscious about it.

I wouldn't. That is his problem, not mine and if he asks me out, then it's ok with me ,too

That's what I think, too, Bobbee, but she doesn't agree.
And SH, I think it's because it's her crush and even though the guy isn't my type, he's an Adonis so I think that's what's throwing her off. Because she's gone out with guys before that are just okay looking and she was fine. |
