we don't talk to him..well i do occasionally when he's harassing me about something. Someone my brother works with that knows my dad told him. She had
the baby 9 months ago. I got a lovely voicemail from him since he doesn't have her number. I seriously want to punch the person who told him, thats no ones
business.

Does he expect to see his grandchild? Is that what the voicemail was about?

Maybe the person who told didn'nt realize he wasn't supposed to know. Maybe they mentioned something about a grandchild, and your dad was surprised.
It's hard to keep something like that under wraps.

you can't honestly expect to keep something like that under wraps for a long period of time. that was going to come out eventually.

It's a kid, not lottery winnings.
Is your dad a nutcase or something? Or just a deadbeat? |

They might've thought that since it was a baby (not like, new dishes or something), he already knew.

If he's been a complete deadbeat then he does NOT have the right to know, but you have to understand that stuff like that can't be kept a secret
forever. If he's still around the area and interacting with people you know, it was bound to come out. Just make sure your sister handles it how she wants
to handle it, without caving into pressure from anybody.

Yeah, I wouldn't really blame the person that let it out because like others have said they probably just assumed he knew.

I have members in our family that I would rather not have my children around, so I know where you are coming from. They don't have a right to anything that
has to do with someone's child. We let our children around them for the benefit of the whole family, to try to keep the peace and just try to keep close
tabs on their interactions.

i can definitely see your point.. but, it is still his blood in the baby.
i find it so weird that girls do this. my one friend from highschool had a baby and never told her dad because it was out of wedlock and her dad is a legitmate italian mobster. He lives in Italy but comes home every now and then. She's afraid he'll kill the dad. haha |

Yeah, my dad was an alcoholic too. Haven't seen that bastard in 20 years and I'm so much better for it.
Blood doesn't mean shit. It's all about the people who play the part. |
