I always want to know what their story is that theyre at this point so early in life because this seems different than say being 8 yrs old and being homeless with your parents.
s/o Do you know anyone who is homeless & your age?

I dont know anyone who is actually homeless or who has been homeless but seeing people in their midtwenties who are homeless is always kind of more disturbing
(if there is no drugs or mental health issues).

No, but a kid in one of my classes last semester said that he was homeless when we had to say something about ourselves. I don't think many homeless people
go to college while they're homeless...so props to him I guess.

I don't know anyone personally, because there would always be a place on my couch for them, if a family member or friend needed help. But there is this
girl I sometimes see downtown that looks to be my age and homeless, she has a sign up saying that she will take any job offer that is legal.
I don't know about in the US, but once you're homeless in France it's very very hard to get back into society, so I'm always really sad when I see a new homeless person in my neighborhood. And I always wonder what their story is. |

I actually don't know any homeless people, or even know of them...but I always feel bad when I see them.
They oftentimes stand at the corner of the
freeway exit by my school, and I always feel bad if I drive by without giving them a few dollars. But I never have cash on me! Sad.
One time, when I was in 9th grade, I was walking around downtown with some friends and a homeless guy came up and straight up asked me "Can I have some money for heroin?" I was like "Uh..." |

I let one of my friends live with me after he couldn't live at his apartment anymore and couldn't get a place on his own.

I used to work in a homeless shelter for women so I've seen all ages (17-70) that are homeless for so many different reasons (drugs, mental illness,
domestic violence, lack of work and lack of housing). It was really interesting to talk to the women and hear their stories but it was also very frustrating
trying to help them navigate through the system.

My friend was homeless for a few days and my parents allowed her to stay with us for what they said would be 'a while'. She moved out about 2 years
later.

I volunteer at a homeless youth clinic near my university and I see people 16-25 a lot. It's sad to think they don't have a bed to go home to at night.
