I'd only have an issue with it if they were aiming for like a Duggar-size family or something.

Why would I care if someone wants to take fertility drugs?

That's none of my business so I don't care.

Their money, their doctors, their choice. We aren't in China.

Only if they're paying for it, with their own money. Insurance shouldn't cover unlimited fertility treatments, while people die waiting to be approved
for cancer treatments or organ transplants.

Only if they somehow get government funding or something for it then no. But if it's out of their pocket, who are we to say no?

Sorry - if people pay for insurance, I don't see why fertility treatments can't be covered. Infertility is a medical problem after all.

Pulpgurl wrote: But it's not a life threatening or serious one. Do you think that the fertility treatments should be unlimited, no matter what the cost? People who have insurance get denied coverage for serious, painful, life- threatening conditions every day. Infertility is none of those things. You don't HAVE to have a baby. It's not a matter of life or death. I could see it being covered, if someone pays for it, but not unlimited treatments. If an insurance company has to pay for endless fertility treatments, how are they going to afford to cover people with serious conditions, like AIDS, cancer, diabetes, etc. ? |

If someone wants to bring someone into this world and create life and raise and nurture a life of theirs, who is anyone to say that they don't deserve that
or they are wrong for doing it. If a person is fit to be a parent physically, mentally, emotionally and financially and they have the money to go through with
the procedure, then they should be able to.
If however, you do not have the ability (physically, mentally, emotionally or financially), I do not think they should bring another life into this world. |

My husband and I did fertility to have our 2nd baby after having our first. There is nothing wrong with that and I would do it again if necessary to have
another child later on. We have the means to raise a family and we love our children and are very hands on. Everyone has a choice to have kids any way
possible.

Ummm we had one and struggle with second time fertility...WTF is it your business? I didn't ask you to pay the thousands of dollars to get prenant or to
raise them...and if I would have had more than one I wouldn't have asked for your damn help then either.

IHeartDrDorian wrote: exactly, personally I feel like it's the worst kind of punishment to consciously decide to only have one child. I always feel so badly for only children. I have 3 siblings and I don't know how I would've gotten through life without them. It just sucks to miss out on that life experience and that bond. My cousin was an only child and I always felt so badly, b/c whenever his parents fought or something was going on, he didn't have anyone to go through it with. and not only that, I cannot imagine only having one child. not just for the sake of my children but b/c I imagine knowing that you have created a living being and brought it into this world. and you get the responsibility of raising it. That's not something I want to do just once and if I have the means, no one is going to tell me I can't or don't deserve to do it. I really hope I am fertile though b/c if I can't have kids, I am going to be PISSED! |

it seems like the only people that are against it are ones without kids.
