Chains aren't fancy unless you make them fancy. They're fun and they're nice but they are no where near being "high-end".

YES. Exactly. Maybe not $400 because their are definately restaurants by me that aren't that expensive (about $100-$150ish for my husband and I to eat at) that are totally high-end around here. Classy, classy, classy! No jeans allowed.I think I got by with around 175.00 for 2 at one restaurant and at another for 4 it was around $375.00 without tip. I'd rather eat in a much more casual environment but it's interesting to experience once or twice. |

Um, I'm a big fan of Canlis here in Seattle, but that wouldn't be something anyone except the Seattlites would've heard of. It's like.. a $300
dinner for two.

cheriestars wrote: I'm a big fan of fine dining and there are so many great restaurants around Seattle. $80-$200/person for 3+ courses (wine pairings in the higher range). My favorite in Seattle is probably Rover's, a French restaurant; doesn't get much better than the 8 course Grand Menu Degustation! But I have a lot of favorites depending on the cuisine. Canlis is probably the epitome of fancy high-end, they have great food too, but the service is what's astounding. You drive up, complimentary valet parking, you don't get a valet ticket or anything, coat check (again no ticket), the maitre d' takes you to your seat, the waiter already knows your name, about 7 people work to make sure you have the smoothest dining experience possible, live piano, great views, ambiance, great wine list... You walk out, there is someone waiting with your coat, and your car is already pulled up right outside with whatever leftovers you're taking home in a box. Really magical service. |

I kinda agree. If you can wear jeans there, it isn't fancy.

Chez Shea is really good too.
I have not been to Rovers. And yes, Canlis is literally magical. Great views, great service, amazing food. Aww, I dream about Canlis I wish the food was better at the Columbia Tower Club, because then I'd definitely pick that but it's Ehh |

canlis is wonderful. If you want an even more expensive meal, they do have private rooms as well, for a price.
http://www.canlis.com Also, even though the food sucks, I do like the restaurant at the Space Needle, if only for the views. Food is so secondary for me while dining |

Does the restaurant at the Space Needle revolve?
