And I love Britney but she wouldn't be cast to do a huge song in Nine like Fergie has been cast. Fergie is not perfect live, but she takes risks and she can do one handed cartwheels while singing.

classexa wrote:I agree. If you are going to make people pay high prices for a "Live" show, they should not be seeing you lip synching. If that's the case, sell videos of your music. It's lame, and there is no excuse for one artist to get away with it, while others are picked apart for ever little thing they do wrong on stage., |

Meli wrote: See, that is what bugs me about Britney defenders. They pick at everyone for not singing great, but Britney can get away with not being able to pull of lame lip synching corrrectly. I think she can be a good singer and performer, but there is NO excuse for not trying to sing live. To beat on fergie who can kill Britney vocally is a bit much. Say what you want, but Fergie CAN sing and she is as very energetic on stage. I also have seen her not good, but I have see her do a good job too. Britney would never be cast at this point in a movie/musical like Beyonce or Fergie have been. And if someone is a good performer and is making millions from SINGING on CD's, they should be able to sing live or in movies. Anyway, I am going to stop or I will be accused of being "maz" because I dared question why Britney does not sing live, when she will be asking high prices for "concerts". |

She's not the first, nor the last artist to lip synch.
If you don't care to pay to see that kind of show, simply don't go. The people who cough up up the money know what to expect with a Britney show. |

Dude, you only post about Britney Spears and you hate her. You're just as ridiculous as Maz.

FFS Britney has always lipped because she was dancing hard core. How can someone sing "toxic", " slave" along with hard-dancing ? Nobody can do it, they're POP songs. Same old excuse. |

I was just watching The EMA performance with Fergie, and she sounds bad. If she sings good in concert, then, i have nothing to say. That's cool.
AT the end of the day, the only that i can tell you, is that it's all a matter of tastes. If I want to see someone singing well, i'll go see Leona Lewis. If i want to have fun, and to see a show, i'll go see Britney Spears. They're both good in what they do, they're just differents. You can't deny that they're both talented. Then that's fine. Britney has a 10 years carreer, she has fans all over the world. She is still selling millions of records, beating records. Britney Spears is the icon of our generation. Agree or not. She has marked music industry. If you don't like her work, then that's fine. It's a matter of tastes. |

carlieed wrote:No one? Clearly NOT the case She'll get money, as long as people keep paying to see her. And, her tour has sold more than half a million tickets, so I really don't think anyone is concerned. Her songs aren't made for completely live vocals, it would take away from everything else. If I wanted to see a live singing show, I'd go see Leona or Coldplay. I go to Brit, for the spectacle, the music, and she's sang plenty live in past concerts, not the whole thing, but parts
This is such a tired subject though |

Like Britney said "Don't like me, don't watch me"
Simple. Why do you have to make it complicated for yourself? |

Why nobody gives a shit about Mariah Carey and Xtina lip-synching ? Now this is interesting. They have no other things to do than singing, and they don't.

Meli - That's a whole other thread waiting to erupt
They are known vocalists, they are power houses, Mariah not so much now, but they are first and foremost vocalists. When they lip synch, it's a rareity (expecially Christina) so that argument is void. |
