I don't know why, but I'm still nervous driving up the
hills. I accidentally burned rubber going up the hill at the stop light. So embarrassing.

I've always said that I was going to learn to drive a stick, and I have yet to learn.

I edited drink to drive. I was reading the clubbing thread and my head was stuck on the word drink .

I'm scared of the hills because I always roll back and I have to shift perfectly on 1st and 2nd gear.

I learned this summer. One of my guy friends taught me how on his Honda Civic. I only stalled when a car got behind me and I had to wait to make a turn. I got
extremely nervous with the car behind me and I forgot what I was doing.

My first attempts at learning how to drive were on standard. I got pretty good at it, drove in traffic a couple of times. I never mastered hills though. One
day my dad told me it wasn't for me, he didn't want to teach me anymore. A month later I failed my road test, and I haven't gone back to driving
since.

I'd like to learn, just to know how to do it. I don't even plan on having a manual, though.

I was taught the manual gears a few years ago on a sports car... the most traumatizing moment in my life that involved driving because I was yelled at and I
kept stalling. The engine was too loud and powerful.
But I practiced with a civic tonight and it was easier... but I'm still not too confident. |

It takes awhile to get used to but once you got it down it's like riding a bike. I got lucky that my first car was a manual and had this light that would
light up on the dash when I had to shift. Best car for learning to drive a manual
