Y'all do know she is not after the role the producer has her in mind. And Etta James thought she did good in the movie she just didn't want her to taking over her "song" (singing to the President). And besides if the critical acclaim (Variety, Hollywood Reporter, The Village, New York Times, Rolling Stone, etc) she got in "Cadillac Records" is any indication it doesn't surprise me that people are bold enough to want her to do these types of movies and play these types of roles.

This whole thing reminds me of when Cher was on the pursuit for the Oscar, people keep saying she couldn't act for shit until she won one and she had her "Sonny and Cher", "Sonny and Cher Show" (after the divorce), "The Cher Show" variety shows under her belt to work for her. Beyonce is only starting, it would be nice if another actress played Angela Davis, so I will just watch, wait and see.

And please stop with the Dreamgirls thing, I am sure she knew playing Deena wasn't gonna win anything for her. Anyone who has ever seen the play (the original play with Jennifer Holiday) would know that the story is centered around Effie White and only Effie White (hell even Lorelle in the play had her own solo song "Ain't No Party" while Deena had zero). She probably thought she was gonna win an Oscar for "Listen" but she wasn't even nominated.
