Why are people so concerned with what other people name their kids?

cls2 wrote:This is from People: In a humorous message on her MySpace Celebrity Blog, the "Paper Planes" songstress shot down the rumors while poking fun at a few of the more unique names bestowed upon certain celebrity kids. "MY BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH, " she writes. "HES A BABY, HE DONT NEED PRESS!" Explaining that she doesn't consider her son's name to be newsworthy information, M.I.A., 31, says she'll be back with something for her fans soon. "TILL THEN GO PICK ON APPLE, SATCHEL AND MOON UNIT," she suggests. So I don't see how people can call others ignorant or shame them for making fun of a name when she herself, in a humorous weird way, was being semi-ignorant and making fun of other celebrities and the names they picked. |

There's a different between names like Apple or Pilot Inspektor, and names that have a cultural significance.

The leaked name is disgusting, because it's not the same name, genius.

IMO, Ikhyd would be pronounced as ick-it... just like the leaked name.

It would be mostly likely pronounced Ik-heed, as many posters have previously mentioned, because apparently it's a common Sri Lankan name. You get a mensa
award for the day too, I guess!
