Posts: 38936 (04/01/2009 7:21 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Background story: My friend is going through a lot of crap right now--she recently found out her father has cancer, she broke up with her boyfriend a few weeks ago, among other things. Needless to say she's been pretty down-in-the-dumps lately, so a few of my friends and I are thinking of some little ways that we can help her stay positive and keep her head up, so one of the ideas was to make her a CD of uplifting type songs. So if you could make some suggestions, that would be really helpful.

It's better to feel like shit for a while and cry your heart out than to try and repress it. Anyways, sorry for giving advice you didn't ask for. She has felt like shit for a while. It's understandable that she needed time to "grieve" (that's not the right word to use, but you know what I mean), but she's indicated that she doesn't want to just mope around the house everyday and she wants to get back into the swing of things, so to speak. So we just want to do some little things to cheer her up a bit. Like baby steps.
