So if you could make some suggestions, that would be really helpful.

Background story: My friend is going through a lot of crap right now--she recently found out her father has cancer, she broke up with her boyfriend a few weeks
ago, among other things. Needless to say she's been pretty down-in-the-dumps lately, so a few of my friends and I are thinking of some little ways that we
can help her stay positive and keep her head up, so one of the ideas was to make her a CD of uplifting type songs.
So if you could make some suggestions, that would be really helpful.

You know what, it's not really healthy to try to stay positive when horrible stuff like that happen. It's better to feel like shit for a while and cry
your heart out than to try and repress it.
Anyways, sorry for giving advice you didn't ask for. Songs Survivor, Bridge over troubled water, Fighter, the whole of Xtinas Stripped album, I run for life by Melissa Etheridge, Jewel Hands and Life Uncommon, Loretta Lynn God makes no mistakes, Everybody Hurts. |

It's understandable that she needed time to "grieve" (that's not the right word to use, but you know what I mean), but she's indicated that she doesn't want to just mope around the house everyday and she wants to get back into the swing of things, so to speak. So we just want to do some little things to cheer her up a bit. Like baby steps. |

Suicide by Bobby Gaylor You need to listen to the whole song. The first half is sad but it makes me feel better.

I prefer the same song "Stand" by Rascal Flatts, but to a Superman Returns montage... But the original video I posted above is also good!

these aren't really motivational but i have a hard time feeling sad when listening things like: the whole of the footloose sound track, grease soundtrack,
fun 80's tunes and spice girls, classic boy band stuff
