I don't watch True Blood, but most vampires die when they come in contact with fire. Except in Twilight, but they aren't real vampires anyway so I

I don't remember that very well, I just remember in the books they very clearly explain that vampires can be killed, it's just usually hard to do so.

they are immortal in the sense that they will not die of natural causes. they can be killed, by stake, sunlight, fire, etc... just like any other vampire
story.
