My computer/Vista/iTunes/iPod fail(s) and will no longer sync but I want to give it another shot before I get rid of the iPod. I don't want to buy
anything, I mean is there something free I can download?
Something besides iTunes that I can use to sync my iPod?

There are definitely programs that will allow you to treat it just as a hard drive, I'm just not aware of free ones.

MediaMonkey works well if you only want to sync music. I don't think it syncs things like apps or podcasts though.
