We're 99% set on going there for 5-6 days in August, and I need some opinions on hotels. If you've been there (or live there I guess) where'd you
stay? How was the service? The rooms? Proximity to attractions and sightseeing.. price. You get the idea. Did they have bed bugs and mysterious stains on the
walls and carpet? Anything that'll help so we can get everything figured out

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites Lakefront too and it's nice. It's not right next to an El stop, but it's a sort walk. Plus the free breakfast
and happy hour is nice.

I've stayed at the Hilton on Michigan Ave. and that was really nice. We just stayed in Chicago this past weekend at the Essex Inn on Michigan which is an
older hotel but still very clean and was much cheaper. The service was excellent. When we got in our room, we noticed the sink wasn't draining like it
should. We called the front desk and within two minutes the maintenance guy was knocking on our door. It also has a pool and a deck to sit outside. The Essex
has a shuttle that runs during the day (I believe it was 10am-6pm) to and from the Magnificent Mile and/or Navy Pier and is free so we really liked that!
Also, a cab ride back from Navy Pier to the hotel was only about $8.

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel on West Wacker two weeks ago and liked it a lot. We took a taxi most places- about $5 to the Hancock Building/top of
Magnificent Mile, or walked to downtown locations. Our room was something like $300 a night, but it was through a convention so I'm sure we got jacked on
the price.

The Avenue Hotel, HANDS DOWN. My boyfriend and I stayed there back in April, and it was amazing, and not expensive at all. It's steps away from Michigan
Avenue. I looooooved it there.

Yeah, don't want anything too expensive. We're not looking to break the bank while we're there
