I'm no Backstreet Boys fan but why do people think they need to stop? Is there not enough room in this universe for all kinds of bands/artists/boybands or
what have you?

I am a huge BSB fan..however they do need to stop. Unless they went and got some kick ass writers which I am sure they didnt'...this CD will flop. I doubt
they do many US dates...they just don't have the fanbase they used to.

Would you tell a painter to stop painting, even if they got rusty at it as they got older?Or someone to stop performing and dancing on stage even in their 40s when they obviously are are not as strong as they used to be or in high demand as they used to be? What if that is their passion and they do it because they love it?This is what they love doing and it is for them and their fans. They are definetly not trying to creating the hysteria and pandemonium they used to be able to back in their glory days. I do not think they are trying to top the charts and be number #1 all over. They have made their mark as the biggest selling 'boyband' worldwide and sold millions. They have done their accomplishments and can end their careers proud of what they achieved. Their music, especially classics, still enlighten so many fans out there. The person above me wrote that their CD will flop. Who cares if it does?I do not think they care about that as much nor do their fans. How many people's records flop or it does not even get commercial success or no songs hit the radio? So that means they all need to stop doing music? I find flawed logic in that thinking. Music is not all about being the biggest success you could be, it is more about how it makes people feel and the joy it brings to others. Those emotions and sentiments and smiles you bring to peoples faces when they enjoy your songs, you can never measure that in numbers or put statistics to it. Whether you like it or not, that is what BSB STILL give into their music and to their fans. Wow, that was a lot longer than what I wanted to say. |

Why the need to relate this to 'Nsync? This is about BSB releasing an album.
I'm excited. Not too crazy about the new material but I will still support it and hope the finished product will be great. |

So wait, Nick isn't even in the band anymore? Or am I confused? I don't follow the BSB so much.

NicksAssGrabber wrote:They said a Justin--not Justin, meaning that BSB don't have a huge breakout star that could have a big solo career. Nick tried his hand at a solo album but it pretty much failed spectacularly and Brian's solo album didn't do much, either. I agree that the BSB really need to pack it in already. They're too old to be a boyband now and even if they weren't, their music hasn't really changed since the beginning. It's pretty much the same ol' same ol'. If you've heard one BSB album, you've heard them all. If you don't change your sound, you can easily get lost in the shuffle of newer artists. I don't think I even remember any singles from the last album being played on the radio. As for *N Sync, I think that if they were still around, they'd definitely be adapting their sound to fit in with what's popular now, because they weren't afraid of evolving and trying out new things. |

I've always believed that it's better to stop while you're still on top.

I'm super confused. I feel like I read this EXACT same thread, word for word, like a few weeks ago
. I had to check the date 20 times to make sure it didn't say 06-08-09.
I'm going to go find it.

Anyone see them being interviewed on Extra today? I couldn't believe they were asked if they missed Kevin. Brian said he didn't mean no offense to
Kevin but he felt the group seemed more youthful without him. Give me a break.
