That picture is mad. It's almost like the clouds were heading directly for that particular area.

I get that the storm might have turned violent very quickly, but I find it hard to believe that the people running things weren't aware there was a weather warning. At a huge ass outdoor festival like that, I'm sure at least one person is paid to watch the real-time forecast 24/7. Hell, at FF this year they evacuated LP field for a storm that didn't happen until 90 minutes later! Though it hasn't been updated in here, I believe I read on twitter that they did find Billy's missing bass player, and though his arm was injured, he was mostly okay.

We had a very similar storm here in Ottawa I think Wednesday. The sky suddenly turned black and then the winds and rains started and it was literally going
horizontal!! Then came the hail with it!! Looking out the window at work it literally looked like a tornado was going over us. And then within 10 minutes it
was over.

CMT/the Edmondton Sun are so out of the loop:
The identity of the person killed has not been released, but reports indicate it was not one of the singers or musicians performing at the festival. According to the Edmonton Sun, Currington appeared to have been cut on the face by a falling pole. The newspaper also said his bassist, Shaun Smith, was pulled from the stage area by emergency responders. Photos of Currington and Smith showed them walking away from the debris. I don't know who they were getting their info. from, but Shaun hasn't played with Billy in at least 2 years. And this was on GAC's website: Billy's label, Mercury Nashville, released a statement, saying Billy "was taken to the hospital and suffered a minor concussion but is expected to make a full recovery. He has been released from the hospital and has returned to his home in Nashville. Currington's bass player Alex Stevens was pinned under the wreckage of the stage for half an hour while rescue Scary! Glad the poor guy's okay now. Hope he recovers so that he's able to continue to play.
