How often do you get harassed/cat-called on the street?

Yeah, but if you wear a short skirt or some other revealing clothes, you KNOW men are gonna be looking at you and possibly saying something to you.

I love Jerry Seinfeld's bit about how men calling to women as they drive past is that man's last brain cell at work. He's like, "What is the
woman supposed to do-start chasing the car, yelling, 'I had no idea how you felt!'"

I live in Wyoming. So rarely. I do get honks and random whistles that come out of cars/trucks occasionally.
Back when I lived in Denver, it was a far more common occurrence. |

You might think you're being all feminist or something, but you're just giving them the satisfaction of achieving your attention, which they don't deserve.

Thankfully not that often, although the last time was a couple of weeks ago. I was wearing red shoes so a few teenage boys decided it'd be funny to yell
out that it meant I was gagging for it.

Has it been THAT long since you've gotten laid?! They don't care. Revealing clothing or not some men are just ridiculous. |

Everyday. And what's funniest to me is when I KNOW I look tore up (like if I go to the grocery store with my glasses, hair in a ponytail, tshirt, shorts
and flip flops), and guys still want to say something. Like, I KNOW I look ugly, and this just proves they will holler at anything with boobs and an ass.

It's silly to play dumb and pretend you don't know that catcalls/looks will occur. I'm not saying that women shouldn't expect catcalls if they are wearing flattering/revealing clothing. But why are we so complacent and accepting of cat calls in the first place? I remember being followed down the block by a guy complimenting my ass and trying to get my number when I was 13. I was terrified. Of course that's an extreme example, but what I'm trying to say is that cat calls aren't usually innocent compliments. There's difference between "You look nice today." and "You look nice today" said in a breathy tone, while being eyed up and down. In short, they make a lot of women feel like shit. Like pieces of meat, like we don't own our bodies. |

Every.fucking.day. It gets so annoying and it's kind of frightening when they follow you around. The worst/kind of hilarious thoughs is when dudes make
sounds at you from their cars. Like...oh ok you just made some sort of clicking sound at me let's have sex!!!

i don't know b/c i try to ignore it. i hate that shit, esp b/c it's usually in the form of "psss psss," "hey girl,"
"shawty," "come over here," etc. it's always really obnoxious and leaves me wondering where guys get their tips on how to pick up women
these days.

I remember one guy in the supermarket car park when I was 19 and at uni... this guy without preamble or warning jumps in front of me out of nowhere and says
"you're a beautiful woman." He then got huffy because I was stood there dumbfounded - I guess he thought I should have been falling to my knees
in gratitude.
I was too surprised to say anything, but I was thinking "dude, I'm barely legal and you're a stranger who is old enough to be my father, you expect me to be happy that you jump out at me in car parks and scare the shit out of me?" |

Who was the person that would come in and say that she couldn't leave the house without someone hitting on her?

I don't know how often it is, but the most annoying thing is when you're in traffic and some dude is trying to get your attention. Like, please stop
before you kill us both.
I always tell guys I'm 17 so they'll leave me alone. |
