My cat was put down this morning and of course I was too messed up to really think about it and just blindly chose. They offered to give me his body back for burial on my own, and then three cremation options: communal cremation (cremated with other pets, no ashes back), individual partition cremation (cremated with walled partitions between pets so you can get the ashes back) and then private cremation where they only cremate YOUR pet and you get the ashes back. Or they can scatter them on their property (they're a farm).
I chose individual partition cremation, and I'm going to get the ashes back...if your pet was cremated, what did you do with the ashes?
I have to say the vet's office was really nice and they had compassion for me AND for my cat, they treated him so well, but I wish he didn't have to go.

i know exactly how you feel.
