Oh that's cool. Well good luck. Save, Save, save. Can not tell you that enough. It's rough out here right now but coming with a plan in case working
right away doesn't work out is the best. The more you have the better.

Yea i'm saving now. I'm going to start looking into jobs in Jan/Feb and hope to move by April/May. I think i'm being pretty realistic about the
time it may take to find something...plus I want to put in a full year at the company I'm at now...which brings me to Feb 9th. Since I'll be doing
design, I'll have the opportunity to do freelance work as well to keep money flowing in.
I'm very excited...except for the traffic, the parking and ridiculously priced parking tickets haha. |

Okay. As someone who lives in LA proper (and has lived here for 6 years), I completely disagree. There are lots of beautiful areas of Los Angeles, just like there are a lot of ugly areas. Los Angeles is really a collection of small towns; every neighborhood has a different feel, and it changes from street to street. And Marie, yay for finally moving into the city! Not needing to commute will be awesome for you. |

^ Exactly. There are some gorgeous parts of LA and that's where they film. Just like everywhere else, the richer the area, the better.

Jenn, I'm excited to finally get out there too. We'll see what happens. How do you like your new place?

You've seen places for $700-750? That's ridiculously cheap.
One of my friends is trying to get me to move out to Silver Lake near him. I'm seriously thinking about it, but I'd definitely need a roommate to pull it off, and it wouldn't be for about another year. |

Agree about every area of LA being vastly different. I just moved about 15 miles, from the SF valley to the Agoura Hills/Westlake/Thousand Oaks area and I like
it SO MUCH more. It's like living in a completely different world.

I'm still living out of boxes, but it's so much nicer. 1 1/2 bathrooms, balcony, street view, historic windows, exposed brick, more loft storage space, higher floor... all for over $100 less per month! It's a little smaller in terms of square footage, but the living area is bigger. Marie, if you move to a beach city, I definitely want to come and visit. Find a place that isn't in a permitted area, though. Otherwise I can never park.
