So to reward myself for the hard work, I'm going to splurge on new make-up. Any suggestions on what to get? I want relatively inexpensive. I also don't want to feel like I'm wearing make-up. There are some that just makes my face feel sticky and heavy. I also need to get it from a place where someone can help me pick out the correct colors for me, as well as possible show me how to apply it to enhance certain features.

As I've posted on here before, a couple years ago I was trying to lose weight. At that time my highest was 392. I lost 40 lbs and gave up. I managed to
keep off that 40 lbs. Then in April of this year, I started again. At that time I weighed 351.5 lbs. My first goal was to be below 330, which is what I weighed
when I graduated law school. My second goal was to be below 300, which I know I obviously weighed less than that at some point, but I don't remember it. As
of today, my weight is...*drum roll*...298 lbs! Wow! It feels weird saying 200 anything. I cried in the locker room for about 10 minutes after finding out. On
top of that, for the first time in my adult life, when taking my hip measurements, I was able to get the ends of the 60 inch tape measure to meet! Granted,
there is still 2 inches of tape after the 60 inch mark, but I've never before been able to get the ends to meet. I've seen the ends slowly get closer,
but now they meet. I'm so excited!
So to reward myself for the hard work, I'm going to splurge on new make-up. Any suggestions on what to get? I want relatively inexpensive. I also don't want to feel like I'm wearing make-up. There are some that just makes my face feel sticky and heavy. Congrats on the weight loss..I have recently lost 20 or so pounds--after years of not losing a thing despite corrected diet and exercise, I found out I had an
endocrine disorder..now that it's regulated through meds, the weight loss is coming. I am on my way to the goal. It is SO rewarding!!
I love the Ulta brand makeup, it's inexpensive and the coverage and pigmentation is wonderful..if you have one nearby, I would recommend their things.. I also like the Sephora brand (very similar to Ulta) if you have one of those stores close by. |

Congratulations on reaching this milestone--great job! I don't have any make-up advice, but give yourself a nice treat. You deserve it!

I've watched contestants on The Biggest Loser reach milestones like this (and watch them cry when they do it!) and always thought to myself, that would be
amazing to do. Now I've done it and I completely understand why they were crying!
My water aerobics instructor also does a spin class and she invited me to come try it sometime. I told her I'd love to, but I'm afraid of it. She said she'll make me a deal. I can come and do 30 minutes and leave if I feel that's all I can do. She also said to let her know when I'm coming and she'll come in early to help me fit the seat. |

I love Spin classes..the best part is (well at least in my gym) you can control how much you do. If the instructer advises to increase tension/speed and you
dont feel comfortable with it yet, you can just keep going at your pace/tension. When I need to kick my own ass, I go to Spin class
and I'm not going to lie..when I lost 4 pounds in one week last week, i totally cried like a baby.. |

yay congrats! Usually if you need someone to help you pick out stuff it would be for a higher end brand. I don't trust Ulta or Sephora workers lol. Maybe
you can find colors that work at a Estee lauder brand then go to a cosmetics company outlet to get the makeup 30% off. =)
You might like Bare escentuals, I thini they may still give out samples at the boutiques. |

Congrats! You're incredible!
Spin class = death. Good luck if you decide to go! I tried it once and I was like, ehh... never again. |

I do feel proud. I used to think that I'd never be able to do this. Finally, I did an inventory of everything else I've accomplished (first in my
family to finish college, finish to law school, then get Masters). I decided that I can take that same motivation, will, and effort and put it into losing
weight. Seeing the results is keeping me motivated, and not just the number on the scale. When I completed a 3 mile walk last week in an hour, I knew there
was improvement and it motivated me. The fact that one of my instructors thinks I can handle a spin class is motivating to me. When I walk up the stairs to my
apartment without getting winded I feel motivated. I also know that once my sessions with my trainer are up this coming week that I can keep this up on my own.
The reason I know that is because I like how I feel when I don't eat junk and hate how I feel when I do. I love how I feel after a workout. Both have
become habit to me now.

chelley0223 wrote:You certainly have A LOT to be proud of. The habit part, I totally agree. When I first signed up for a gym, I made one of my friends do it with me..then whenever he stopped going and I had no problem going on my own, I knew that i'd be okay in the long run. My long term goal is to get to under 200 (and i'm about 11 pounds away!!!)...My moment that I realized it was going to be okay was when I signed up for and completed the Disney World Half Marathon..granted I didn't run the whole thing, I ran part of it..the fact that I finished told me that I was definitely fit enough. My goal this year is to run the entire half marathon. It's going to be a lot of work, but I just think about how I was just a few short years ago and know that i'm light years ahead of that now. |

When I told my mom that I reached that goal she said she needs to find the motivation. If we still lived in the same house, or anywhere near each other, I'd drag her to the gym with me. But we live on opposite ends of town now. |
