I am cooking a pork recipe that involves leaving the pork chops in a crock pot for 7 hours. Can I just put them in a pot and leave it on the oven on low heat?
I don't own a crock pot.

I'd try looking for a similar recipe that involves cooking it in the oven instead

You can find crock-pots pretty cheap. I don't use mine that often, but I'm glad I have it. Makes things so easy.
Think of it as an excuse to get yourself one. You'll be glad you did. * /commercial* |

Technically no but it may not taste the same and you will have to add some sort of liquid as the crock pot retain moisture and even produce while the oven
evaporates it.
Lots of things that can be made in the oven can also be made in the crock pot so I would assume an attempt of vice versa could be possible. 30 to 45 minutes in the oven = 6 to 10 hrs on low or 3 to 4 hrs on high 50 minutes to 3 hours in the oven = 5 to 15 hours on low or 4 to 6 hours on high |

You def can cook pork in the oven and have it turn out just as great as a crock pot. Just look up a similar recipe as someone else mentioned to see what temp
and time to use.

You don't NEED one, but once you've used one, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.
