guesswhatelse wrote:I totally agree with this right here. I could never do nothing with my hair when I had relaxers. It wouldn't act right. Now that I'm natural and just have my granny press it, its all good! I wrap and go.

darlinArod wrote: This was me too. Once I stopped relaxing, my hair was so damaged I had to cut it all off and start over. Now I just co-wash my hair, put some leave-in in it and let it air dry. Easy as pie and my hair is way healthy. |

well I figure I'll see how the other half lives for a while. I figure in a couple of years I might go natural all over again. who knows!

I like your hair both ways the relaxed look is very Chic. I tried to relax my hair and it would get really tangled. So it's been about three years I just
wear braids and that works for me...Best wish to you and make sure you enjoy your new look....

I always promote this site: longhaircareforum.com
Since this is your first time relaxing, you might wanna take a look at the site. Lot of valuable information on how to take care of our hair when it's relaxed. Also, hairlicious.blogspot.com

Damn. If I can be honest, I think you may regret this decision. Even though I havea great head of hair, I wish I had never decided to get the relaxer (but I
was too young to make a more informed decision). You look adorable with the new hair, but the upkeep and breakage will seriously defeat you. I hope you enjoy
this experience too. Straight hair is great and all, but you could've just gotten a beautiful roller set and a blowout. Keep us updated with how you like
it!

MissDivaDoll wrote:I'm the opposite. I do more to try to make my hair look done now that it's natural than when it was relaxed. Mostly has to do with the weather. I can't wear it straight because it frizzes like crazy, but when I wear it natural I have to twist it every night, put in conditioner and beat down the frizz just to make it look presentable for the day. When I had the relaxer I just straightened it with a flat iron a bit and I was good to go If it was thicker I'd have a better handle on it but it's thinner and
has many layers. I'm glad summer is almost over, then it'll be much easier to style.
Showme it looks good. I like both styles, like someone earlier said you can do twist outs to get your natural style back when you want it. I love twist outs! |
