We were together 5 1/2 years before we got engaged; 6 1/2 years until we married.
We met during my first year of university; his second. We completed our degrees and waited until we got our careers started. my parents met and then 6 days later got married- no engagement My parents married 11 days after meeting! |

We got engaged 1 year and 9 months after we started dating. That was September of 2003. We still aren't married lol ... not yet anyway!

It's been 2 years and I'm no where close to getting engaged. I guess it just depends on where you are in life.

Three and a half years. I think you need to date someone for at least a couple of years before you really know them.

For my parents (11 days) it was an arranged marriage.
My dad used to frequent a bakery (here in Toronto) and came to know the owner quite well. The owner thought her niece in Israel would be a great match for him. He took a chance and paid for her one-way plane ticket. I think they corresponded by mail a few times first, but yeah, it all went down 11 days after meeting! |

Dated almost 3 years before getting engaged Christmas 2004. Got married 9 months later.
Our 4 yr. wedding anniversary is in a couple of weeks .

Over 6 years. We were just out of high school when we met, though so we were 24/25 years old when we got married.
