That seriously just made me cry. I had to put my dog to sleep a few years ago and I remember him looking back at me as he was going into the room. That image
is just so fresh in my head all over again.

I am going today to put down a friends dog. She isnt strong enough to go in the room, so I volunteered. I figure he would like someone there when he goes..

That is devastating. Wow.
My mom had to put our cat to sleep years ago, it was heartbreaking. She stayed with him and held his hand (Yes I call them hands |

That PS breaks my heart, too. I have three cats, and i can't even imagine...i don't want to think about it.

That one really hit home for me this week and made me bawl. One of my cats is terminally ill and she isn't doing well.

I've given people that option at work when they dump litters of puppies or kittens, or obviously aggressive or ill dogs.

We put my baby to sleep about when I was in middle school. My terrier. My dad knew he would stay in the room with her, and my mom and my older sister were too
upset and were staying home. I was going to stay home until about 5 minutes before my dad left and changed my mind. It was the best choice I made. I was so sad
and a little young, but I didn't want my dog to be alone, and then I didn't want my dad to be alone afterward. They let us hold her and pet her when we
did it and she did seem to be aware that we were there to make her feel better.
Such a good puppy.

This reminds me of when my lab died two years ago suddenly. The vet was taking her to do tests and she was going totally white in the gums and kept looking at
us and like wouldn't budge. Finally, my brother carried her back (She was 80 pounds) and her eyes are what I remember. We made it down the road 4 miles and
she passed away.
