I am relocating from the Charlotte area and looking for apts in the Raleigh area. I would consider living in Durham and cities surrounding Raleigh.

Hmm you're going to want to look in Raleigh anyway bc that would be a bit of a commute to be a nanny. I'm not familiar with any apartments in that area
though.

I should add that I will only be working Monday,Tuesday, and Friday if that makes any difference. I have a roommate also we can afford at least 1200 a month on
an apartment.

Depends on how much you want to spend and if you want to live with/ near college students or not...
In Durham, I know of The Belmont, The Lofts at Lakeview, West Village, Erwin Terrace, Station 9 -- Lofts and West Village you'll find the least students, but mainly because they're the most expensive. Raleigh there's a really nice inexpensive one that I can't remember the name of, but it's right off of 15-501 near Frankie's (the arcade/ go-kart place)? |

Brier Creek is a good location in terms of shopping, restaurants, and close to I-40. The traffic gets heavy but thats mainly because of all that is over there. |

There are several Marquis locations in the area...Marquis at Edwards Mill, at Cary Parkway, at Preston, etc. I have several friends who live at The Ashborough in Cary, right near Crossroads shopping center and they all love it and have been there for years. This part of Cary isn't too bad of a drive from downtown, but other areas in Cary like Preston are probably 30 mins away. Anything in Brier Creek is nice (a little pricier, and not close to downtown - I would guess it's about a 25-30 min drive). I would avoid Durham, especially since it would be a hike to downtown Raleigh. I used to live near Crabtree Valley Mall at Camden Manor Park and I loved it. That was 2 years ago, and I haven't been back since, but it was really nice and reasonably priced. There are several Camden locations in the area, so you may want to check them out - they're all fairly new. Plus, it was only about a 10-15 min drive downtown (straight shot), 15 mins from Brier Creek, 15 mins from Cary...pretty central location. Personally, I think Glenwood Ave./Hwy 70 is a great place to live off of because you can pretty much get anywhere in Raleigh in a decent amount of time. Whatever you do, stay away from Millbrook Rd. (once it turns into Duraleigh and then Blue Ridge Rd., you're ok) and Capital Blvd. as much as possible. Anything near Western Blvd/Hillsborough St. area is going to be near NC State and mostly college kids. If you're looking for a young professionals type crowd, I would suggest looking at places off Tryon Rd. in Cary -- nice area with lots to do (they recently built Tryon Village shopping center), and it's safe! |

I lived in Raleigh for 2 years while attending NC State and I am now in Morrisville (literally right beside Cary)...make like 2 turns and you are in Cary
lol...and I love living in this area. It's quiet and not TOO expensive.
